Mr. Zhu Hongxing , member of Shanxi Youth Committee and Shanxi Inventors Committee, for a long time devotes himself to the study of world peace during his spare time . His book The Global Village has a favorable reception by the United Nations.
Mr. Zhu is kind-hearted. For many years, when he read the report on human disasters such as the armed conflicts between Palestinian and Israel, the civil war in Africa, and other local wars, he could not help thinking what we should do to bring peace to the world. He dwells on the problem and gradually forms his own ideas on this problem.
On March 28, 1996, Focus Interview of CCTV interviewed Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Secretary –General of United Nations. During the interview, Ghali said that the world is not peaceful even after the Cold War. We have not eliminated war and the United Nations has not found a solution to this. Ghali＇s words fanned the sparks of Mr. Zhu minds. He decided to write something on this problem. Thus the manuscript of the book came into being. In his book, he pictures global village as a peaceful and beautiful world. After he sent his manuscript to Mr. Ghali, he received a prompt reply, saying that:”we at the United Nations always appreciate hearing from private citizens like yourself on the subject of peace and on issues affecting the world around you. We place great value on the contributions that you can make to promoting the ideals of the United Nations. ”
In his book, Mr. Zhu thinks that except for local wars, present world is now in a situation of non –war and non-peace. The peace is relative and trying. Though there is a long distance between war and peace, we can step over it instantly. But how? We should reform our minds, The reforming of minds will bring us a beautiful world.
The completion of the book attracts the attention of several publishing houses. Now Mr. Zhu has signed a contract for publication with one of them. May the book be printed soon.
